Golfers clinch MIAC Championships for third time in four seasons

The win automatically qualifies Íæż½ã½ã's for the NCAA Women's Golf Championship in May 2024.

The No. 8 ranked Íæż½ã½ã golf team earned the program's fourth Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Women's Golf Championship Title on Monday afternoon at Royal Golf Club in Lake Elmo, Minnesota. The team clinched the third victory in four seasons with a 54-hole round of 930, twenty-seven strokes ahead of the runner-up, Carleton College who shot 957. 



Íæż½ã½ã's was led by All-American,  carded a tournament low-round of 71 (-1) to finish as the individual runner-up with a round of 228 and just one stroke behind Carleton's Carter Sichol in first. In total, Venne led the field with seven birdies in three days including three in the final 18-holes to move up four places. Venne's performance also earned her MIAC All-Tournament Team honors for the third consecutive season.



Junior  also carded three birdies in the final round to finish her first MIAC Championship in third place. Hillman shot 78 (+6) on Monday for a 54-hole round of 234 and earning All-Tournament Team recognition. 



First-year  closed out her first MIAC Championship finishing tied for fourth individually to make the All-Tournament Team with Venne and Hillman. Shooting an 82 (+10) in the final round gave her a three-day score of 234. 



Junior  shaved two strokes in the final round shooting 80 (+8) moving up three places to finish 12th individually. Anderson tallied four birdies at the three-day championships along with 24 pars. 



Senior  was a place behind Anderson shooting 88 (+16) on Monday for a three day round of 245. Rhodes concluded the tournament with five birdies and 25 pars. 



As a team, the Wildcats recorded a tournament best 24 birdies and a 153 pars while leading all team's averages on par 3's, par 4's and par 5's. 



The win automatically qualifies St. Catherine for the NCAA Women's Golf Championship held at Keene Trace Golf Club in Nicholasville, Kentucky May 21-24, 2024. 



Venne, Hillman, Petzold, Anderson, and Rhodes will close out the fall season this weekend in Sandestin, Florida appearing in the Golfweek Challenge, October 15-17.
