Give to ż’s Day 2021 a rousing success, thanks to over 900 generous donors

Thank you, ż’s donors, for your remarkable contributions to Give to ż’s Day 2021! On Nov. 17, the ż’s community demonstrated exceptional generosity with gifts totaling $471,953 for the Katie Fund. The University surpassed this year’s donor goal, thanks to over 900 supporters who stepped forward to help provide essential support to current students.

“The support of our community members and donors — our alumni, students, staff, faculty, friends, neighbors — is inspiring. We are profoundly grateful,” said Mary Beth Iverson ’85, director of Annual Giving. “The Katie Fund provides crucial assistance for our students and helps them on their path as they claim their St. Catherine education particularly as they overcome obstacles presented by the pandemic and your generosity is an investment in their future. Thank you, ż’s community.”

Each year since 2009, the St. Catherine community has shared its Katie pride on the University’s biggest day of giving. This year, all were met through gifts from amazing donors from all 50 states.

One lucky alumna who shared the #gokatiegive hashtag during Give to ż’s Day was chosen to designate to what area of the Katie Fund a $1,000 challenge gift would go. "Giving back to ż's students is just another way to continue to Lead and Influence,” said Ruth Rike ’19, in a encouraging her fellow alumni. Rike directed the additional $1,000 to the Katie Fund in support of Katie Scholarships. “Knowing my contributions are making a direct impact on current students is an absolute privilege and a great feeling, having been one of those students myself once.”
