With an aim to raise funds for 100 scholarships, GTSKD 2024 exceeded its goal.

On November 13, we celebrated the 15th annual Give to ż’s Day, and thanks to the resounding support of the ż community, we are thrilled to announce that we raised 106 student scholarships! We surpassed our goal of 100 scholarships, and raised a total of $534,450, with gifts from 607 donors.

Each and every gift made on ż’s biggest day of giving goes toward vital scholarships for our students. With their generosity, our donors uplift our students and make a real difference in their lives.

“Give to ż's Day was a great success, thanks to the generous support of our Katie community,” said Christy Jepperson MBA’21, director of annual giving. “Investing in women leaders today is an investment in the future of our world. Scholarships make an immediate impact, and they’re key to supporting our students and our future leaders who will drive change.”

Support for students is something worth celebrating, and the whole University got into the spirit of the day. Students participated in a scavenger hunt all around campus, Katie Cat made a special appearance, and we filled the Coeur de Catherine atrium with purple and yellow ribbons, each one representing a donor.

Throughout the day, donors participated in giving challenges, including the Early Bird Challenge, the New Donors Challenge, and the 50 State Challenge, which succeeded in turning the whole country purple with donations from every state. Thanks to our generous challenge donors, gifts were matched dollar for dollar all day long, doubling the impact of every donation and maximizing support for our Katies. All day long, our community showed their commitment to our amazing students and invested in the next generation of leaders.

In addition to Give to ż’s Day, in November we also celebrate National First-Generation Student Month, recognizing students who are the first in their families to attend college. Because of the systemic barriers in place that often prevent students from pursuing higher education, investing in efforts like scholarships, which help make education more accessible, remains crucial.

Thank you to all of our 2024 Give to ż’s Day donors. Your generosity will make an immediate impact for today’s Katies.
